Why Czechia is a strong choice

Facts that most often decide which country to study in.

€0

Tuition-free in Czech

At public universities, Czech-taught programs are often free for international students who meet admission requirements.

B2–C1

Language level

Most programs require B2; medicine and dentistry need solid B2–C1. From zero to B2 usually takes 8–12 months.

€500–700

Monthly living costs

A typical student budget in Prague with housing is notably lower than in Germany, Austria, or the Netherlands.

Step-by-step admission plan

An applicant roadmap — from choosing a field to enrollment.

  1. 1

    Choose a specialty

Medicine, economics, IT, humanities, or sciences — your field defines exams and timelines.

  2. 2

    Learn Czech

Starting from zero is fine: online in summer, then intensive study. Aim for B2 or C1 by spring exams.

  3. 3

    Nostrification

Recognition of your foreign secondary diploma in Czechia is mandatory. Without it, universities will not enroll you.

  4. 4

    University applications

Submit documents to chosen faculties — usually November–March. Your curator tracks deadlines.

  5. 5

    Mock and entrance exams

In May — Medstudy mock exams, then real entrance exams (May–July) for competitive faculties.

  6. 6

    Enrollment

We support you through university registration, student ID, and the start of studies.

Deadlines: medicine usually November–February, economics until March, arts even earlier. Confirm current dates with your curator.

What you need for admission

Czech language

At least B2 for most programs; medicine and dentistry need B2–C1 — studies start in Czech from day one.

Entrance exams

Medicine, law, and some Charles University programs almost always require exams. Many other schools admit on documents only. Ukrainian NMT is not used.

Visa and housing

Student visa, insurance, dorm or rent. Medstudy helps with paperwork, airport pickup, and adaptation.

Admission FAQ

Yes. Medstudy year-long programs are built for A0 starters: online course in summer, then intensive study. By May most reach B2 or C1.
