Where do Czech economics graduates work and how much do they earn?
Czech graduates in economics can find employment in various sectors of the economy, including banking, finance, consulting, management, as well as in government organisations and international companies. Some graduates also choose a career in academia or research.
The salaries of Czech economics graduates can vary significantly depending on many factors such as level of education, specialisation, work experience, work location and the chosen employment sector. On average, starting salaries for graduates can range from around 30,000 to 40,000 CZK per month. However, professional growth and experience can lead to multiples of this salary over time. For example:
- Chief Financial Officer or Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and: the salary can range from approximately CZK 80,000 to CZK 200,000 per month.
- Investment banker or financial portfolio manager: their income can range from CZK 100,000 to CZK 300,000 per month, depending on the level of experience, the amount of assets managed and the interest for successful management.
- Financial analyst: their salary can range from 60,000 to 150,000 CZK per month, depending on their level of experience and specialisation.
Graduates working in the financial sector or in multinational companies tend to earn higher salaries than those who choose to work in government organisations or small businesses. Specialisation also plays an important role: finance specialists, data analysts or consultants may earn higher incomes than, for example, marketing or human resources professionals.
